The Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (a world-class Drum Corps International [DCI] corps) is looking for a certified athletic trainer to join them on their cross-country tour this summer for the DCI season! Please contact me with any general questions about ATs working in DCI, and otherwise see the information below:
--Responsibilities include injury recognition, rehabilitative care, providing first responder care and general medical management of the performer athlete.
--Provide on-going therapeutic measures to keep the student athletes performing at the highest level.
--Advise staff and administration on individual performance status, and make recommendations on health and wellbeing.
--Log and document all medical interactions with student athletes.
Candidate must be certified athletic trainer.
Be available for all, or a majority of, the summer tour starting on May 21 and ending on August 14th, 2016.
Be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a criminal background check.
Have access to a laptop and cell phone with data plan.
The Athletic Trainer will travel with the drum corps. In addition, they will be provided four daily meals and a place to sleep with the drum corps. Compensation and travel reimbursement is available for this position.
