MSc in Performing Arts Medicine course at University College London
Performing Arts Medicine is a unique specialised field attracting interest from a variety of medical specialists and health practitioners worldwide who wish to include assessment and management of performers in their work.University College London has recognised the need for training in this specialist area. The programme has collaborated with the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine, the Royal College of Music and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance to provide the opportunity for further knowledge and exposure to this broad field of medical practice. The course is based at the main UCL campus and the (ISEH).
The programme is offered as a Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert), a Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) or as a Masters (MSc) in Performing Arts Medicine. The full curriculum includes key areas of performance related musculoskeletal and neuromuscular injury, performance psychology, prescribed and non-prescribed medication, the disabled performer, traveling and touring, the science of dance and music performance and clinical management of the professional voice.
